Just Another Day!

Life is back to normal. I am in the middle of my long work week. Things are surprisingly slow. Usually when the weather starts to warm up a bit the bad guys come out of the wood work and we keep rather busy.
Caitlyn is in her second week of daycare. Daycare told me today she doesn't eat anything all day, doesn't nap and is pretty much is cranky all day. They thought she might have an ear infection so I took her in to get checked out, she's fine! I think she is just adjusting to starting daycare and recovering from mommy deserting her all last week.
Today I bought Wiggle tickets for Cody and I. I took Emilee twice when she was younger but this will be Cody's first concert. He is pretty excited about it.It will be great to spend some quality time just me and my little guy.
That is about it for now. Later!

Home Sweet Home

After 12 hours of flying, we are home! We were greeted at the airport by our very excited kids, balloons in hand and big huge smiles on their cute little faces. What a great homecoming. It turned out to be a wonderfully relaxing vacation. Very low key, a whole lot of sitting on the beach with fruity drinks in hand. What a life!

Eric dances like a white boy, but made for some great entertainment.

Eric and I, April and Jake

The helicopter took us right up to these enormous waterfalls. Amazing!

What a beautiful island. My pictures don't do it justice.

Our home away from home. What a great resort. Very quiet. I think we were one of maybe five couples who weren't over the age of 50. It was very much out style. We aren't big on crowds so the quaintness of the island was perfect for us.

We did venture out a bit. We did a helicopter tour of the island. One word, WOW. What beauty, they island was just breathtaking. The pilot took us to every nook and cranny of the island, explained some history and the whole time he was playing this really relaxing Hawaiian music. The while experience was so surreal.

Another night we went a traditional luau. That was a lot of fun. Eric was picked to go up on stage and dance the hula with all the pretty little island girls. He enjoyed that. I enjoyed laughing at him.

We spent a few days just driving around the island checking things out, did a little snorkeling, walked the beaches. It was great! On our flight over we ran into a couple from Wenatchee. It ended up that they were on the same flights, going to the same island and even staying at the same resort. It was so much fun having another couple to hang out with.

Do I have to go?

Yeah I think I could fit all three kids in that suitcase!
This is a good reason why we AREN'T taking the kids, this is just their stuff packed to take to grandmas and grandpas.

Cody and Mommy enjoyed one last little soak in the hot tub! This is all the vacation I really need.

I am excited to leave tomorrow but...... I want to take my kids. Emilee is not helping the issue. She said to me as I am packing my bag, "Why can't you just take us? You should spend time me us you know." Yeah that's enough to make me feel guilty enough but she went on to say, "Who is going to take care of us if you and daddy die?" Where does she get this stuff? We talked it over because I wanted to make sure that wasn't a true concern. On top of Em's guilt trip the baby is sick. She won't let me put her down, she is fighting naps and just down right cranky! I hope it's just a 24 hr bug, I would hate to leave a sick baby with my parents. Cody could care less that we are leaving. He is just so excited to stay with grandma and grandpa!

Lists, Sick Kid and Excitement!

I just got off work, my long week. Thank God that's over. Now it's time to get down to business. Eric and I leave in three days for Hawaii. There is so much to do I don't know where to start. I am a huge list make soooooo I have list EVERYWHERE. Eric keeps finding them all over the house, he thinks I am nuts. I have notes for Em's teacher, Em's after school teacher, Cody's daycare oh and lets not forget the two page single spaced list of everything I could think of for my parents. I have shopping list, to do list, list of what to pack, and what to do when we get there. List are great and all but now it time to complete those list, that's the hard part.
Cody came home early from daycare yesterday with a fever. He woke up today with no fever but a pretty nasty cough so he stayed home, on Valentines day! He is pretty disappointed to miss the class party. We dropped off all his cards and his teacher said she would bring by his goodies from his classmates later this afternoon.
On the agenda for our Valentines celebration tonight: Heart shaped pizza and an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. The kids will love it. They were thrilled with the singing cards I got them. Emilee's sings a song from the Cheetah girls and Cody's sings "Don't Worry Be Happy". Pretty funny! Well I will try to squeeze in a post before I take off but just in case I don't have time, ALOHA!
P.S. Spell check doesn't seem to be working, so on top off my bad punctuation and misuse of commas I probably have many misspelled words, Sorry!

Kitty Kisses

Bella has always loved Caitlyn. I always find her snuggled up with the baby either on the floor or once in awhile she will sneak into Cates crib. Caitlyn will tug on her fur but not once has the cat scratched her. It's pretty cute to watch the two interact. (And yes I have heard the horror stories about cats smothering babies, I do keep an eye on the two!)

Extreme Room Makeover Emilee Edition

I was feeling inspired after painting Cody's room last week that I thought I might as well do Emilees as well. I took her to Lowes, she picked the color, we came home and she helped me paint. It turned out very pretty. She has a good eye for color. We painted on Monday and today I finally got all her pictures back up on the walls. Also I found an adorable 5x8 rug at Target on clearance. It was marked down so much they practically paid me to take it home! We put up a couple of shelves to display Em's pride and joy, her horse collection. Next on the painting list, the living room accent wall! Stay tuned, it's coming.

Blah Blah Blah

Every morning it is a struggle to comb Emilee's hair. She insists on doing it herself. This morning I offered to help her out, she declined of course and insisted her hair was fine. I told her it wasn't and that it looked like she just woke up. Her response. "Mom everyday you are blah blah blah about my hair!"

So there you have it, in my daughters eyes I sound like the teacher on Charlie Brown.

____________________________________________________________________

Yup she said it! First word "Mama". I am pretty sure it is not by accident, I counted her three differant times today saying it.

So it is just a little over a week until Eric and I leave for Hawaii. Guess how much weight I have lost??????

NONE

Eric and I have been working out, eating better, I am even on some stupid diet pills. He has lost 10 pounds. As for me, not a single pound.

Soakin in the Tub!

Caitlyns version of a hot tub.

Our new favorite thing to do as a family at night is to sit in the hot tub. The kids talk non stop and Eric and I just SOAK. It's the best! Caitlyn is still to young to join us but she gets her own little soak in the kitchen sink.

I Love Weekends!

They both looked so thrilled, don't they?

Always a ham!

Dirty face and all, he is still so handsome!

So I am in the midst of my long weekend. God bless the long weekends. If it weren't for the four days off every other week I don't think I could go on working. It seems just when I am reaching the very end of my rope and extreme exhaustion sets in....the weekend comes! So this weekend I got a few things accomplished. Cody's room painted, a little housework (Eric did most of it, thank you honey!), one birthday party, one baby shower, and one Super Bowl party. I was going to try to tackle painting Em's room but its back to work tomorrow night so unless I can squeeze it in tomorrow afternoon it will have to wait.
The kids and I made it to church today. It has only been.... 6 months. Yikes! Anyways, going to church with my kids is like going to the library. They just don't know the rules on how to act. They did okay, we made it through about half the service before slipping out. Cody and Caitlyn got all dressed up nice, and Emilee my little rebel insisted on jeans. She is such a stinker. She knows we fight about this every time we get around to going to church. She refuses to wear a dress, even though she will wear dresses to school. So after much argueing I agree to let her wear nice pants and a nice shirt. She comes out with her oldest pair of jeans and a shirt with a stain on it. I make her change. She then comes out with nicer jeans but a shirt that is all wrinkly and barely fits her, it is falling off her shoulders. I again make her change. She finally comes out with a fairly decent shirt and some nice jeans. I resist the urge to make her go put a dress on and just let her be. She is a patience tester! After church she ran over to Pastor Jerry, handed him a tithing envelope all sealed up with her name on it. He happily opened it to find a beautifully colored picture, he thanked her and told her how beautiful it was. She was gleeming as we left. We got into the car and I told her how nice I thought that was of her to make such a beautiful picture for Pastor Jerry. She smiled at me at said "I know, but I didn't color that one, Grace did!"

Cody's Room Makeover!

Six months after buying the paint, I finally painted Cody's room. It is nothing drastic,a slightly darker shade then the color that was there before but it was well needed. Cody's room belonged to a kid before we moved in and between the two of them the walls were dirty, scratched and there were a ton of holes. Cody loved the new look! He walked in and said "Can we keep it this way forever?"
