Meet Scotch!

We are becoming horse people! It is so much fun. I have to admit that I know nothing about horses but it sure if fun learning. We are "sub-leasing" a horse. Which basically mean we take care of somebody elses horse on days they can't get down to Appleatchee to care for him. It works out great for us, Emilee has been begging for her own horse but we are not quite ready to take one on full time yet! This is suppose to be Em's thing but Cody is having fun learning right along with her.

Is it Wednesday already???

It has been a busy week. There has been lots of overtime at work. Emilee is out of school now so she hangs out with me most days while I sleep. Well, sorta sleep. One eye open keeping track of her and one eye closed trying to catch a little sleep. It seems like with the warmer weather the kids are going non-stop. Running, swimming, riding bikes... they crash by the end of the day. Emilee started swim lessons. It is fun to watch her. She has a lot to learn. I kinda feel a little bad. I threw her in summer swim league with all these kids who have been taking lessons for years, she has had nothing. She is having fun though. That is what matters most. I am off to work tonight for my last shift then I get my long weekend. I have one overtime shift but other than that I am off until Monday evening. We have high hopes of starting our kitchen remodel. So I will be sure to post pictures of that if it comes to be. That's it for now, Later.

Welcome Summer!

We celebrated Emilee's graduation and the beginning or her summer break last night with a barbecue. We had a great time and I captured some great pictures.

My baby girl has finished kindergarten. Can you believe it? She had a little party in her class complete with graduation caps, cookies and even her report card. She did great. I can't help but be so very proud of her. The kids sang songs and then her teacher interviewed each kid. Here is what Emilee had to say:

"My favorite thing about kindergarten is making the Indian hats, the ice cream party and recess."

"My favorite color is purple."

"My favorite shape is a heart."

"At home I like to do my homework."

"My favorite food is corn and mashed potatoes."

"In twenty years I will be twenty, and I will be able to walk to school."

Will I be married? "I don't know." Will I have children? "Yes, I will have girls."

Will I have a pet? " Yes, I will have a dog."

Where will I live? " In a house."

Silverwood, well almost.

So our annual trip to Silverwood was rained out! Can you believe it? We drove over knowing the weather was going to be iffy, we woke up this morning and it was pouring. The kids were a bit disappointed but we tried to make the best of the situation. We went to the new Cabellas store in Post Falls. The kids were able to catch fish in a little pool turned fishing pond. They got there faces painted and shoot a virtual gun. It was pretty neat. Then we went to Chuck E Cheeses. The kids LOVED it. The games were just the right age for Cody and Emilee. They earned there tickets and happily turned them in for their junk, I mean prizes. Then we enjoyed a relaxing car ride home where we listened to the sound of Caitlyn screaming for two hours straight. All is quiet now, I am exhausted. Cody and Emilee did great at the motel last night, Caitlyn not so much. Good night y'all.

Life is Busy!

A quick check in as I dash out the door for work. Life has been busy here at the Wentworth household. Caitlyn is threatening to take off walking any day now. She thinks nothing is off limits and laughs at us when we tell her no. Cody spends his days learning to ride his bike, dig in the dirt and would spend every waking second of his day in the camper with Grandpa if I would let him. Emilee is loving her horse riding lessons. She is having a difficult time with the unfortunate death of one of the kindergarten teachers at her school. I have never had to explain the concept of death to her before this, its been hard. On a happier note, we are very excited to be going to Silverwood Theme park this weekend. The kids are counting the days. That's it about it for now. Later.

I have resorted to playing video games...

In my quest to drop a few pesky pounds that have been hanging on to my hips, stomach and buttock area I have resorted to playing video games. Have you heard of this thing? The Wii Fit is so much fun. It has a variety of exercise modes. Yoga, balance, aerobics and just some fun games that help get you moving a bit. It tracks your weight, your BMI and helps you set goals for your self. It also will test your fitness age. Who know, I may not lose a pound but at least I am having fun! By the way if you want one, they are hard to find. Eric and I drove all over town on Monday looking for one, they were sold out everywhere. Today Target had maybe two or three left after they got there shipment today!

We have had some weird weather here this weekend. Rainy one second, sunny the next. We are just enjoying a quiet weekend around the house. Happy Memorial Day!

Summer Bike Fun

One of my co-workers knew I was looking for a bike for Cody. He found this one for free! Cody is thrilled. We stole the training wheels off of Ems bike. It seemed like a good idea the time but now not only am I trying to teach Cody to ride for the first time but also Emilee to ride with no training wheels. We live on busy street so they have only a driveway to learn to ride on. So far it is going pretty good. I was given a bike last summer but since I was major prego I never got a chance to ride it. Hopefully this summer the whole family can take the bikes to the park trail and ride.

My Little Girls Dream Came True Today

Riding lessons started today for my little cowgirl. She learned the basics, and did a little riding. She is on cloud nine tonight!

Soccer season is wrapping up for the year. We have had so much fun watching Emilee play this year. Next fall both Cody and Emilee will be playing so things should get interesting. Cody took most of these pictures, he does a pretty good job.

The weather has been so nice this weekend. The kids spent ALL day playing in the sprinkler, digging in the dirt, climbing trees. I sat outside just watching them play. It was great. It's funny though because I have spent the last week researching swing sets and comparing prices. After comparing swing sets that vary in price from $300 to $1500(or more) my kids are perfectly happy playing with a $5 sprinkler and a pile of dirt. Who would have thought?

A Whole Day Off!

I am pretty excited about today. A whole entire day with nothing "planned". I adjusted my work schedule a bit this week so I had last night off, therefore I don't have to sleep all day. The kids are home with me and we are just enjoying the lazy day. The weather is suppose to be warm. I am trying to convince my husband to buy a swing set for the backyard. I think he might give in. I planted a bunch of flowers last weekend so the yard is starting to look pretty good. We brought in a truck load of rock for an area in the front yard but came up a bit short. Now it's back out to the rock yard for another load. See ya, enjoy the sunshine.

A Wonderful Mothers Day

I had a wonderful weekend and an even better Mothers Day. My kids and my husband made me feel so special! We ALL went to church (even Eric), took the moms out to lunch, and I was showered with lovely gifts all day long. It was perfect. Emilee had a top secret gift that she made at school. She made me wait all day before I could open it. It was worth the wait though, it was a hand print she had made into a wall hanging. Cody had left his present at school so he kept trying to take credit for everyone elses gift. The church gave all the moms roses, he took my rose and handed it back to me and said " I made this for you in Sunday School". He lies but he sure is funny! Then we got home and he found a nice store bought Hallmark card my father in law had given to me that morning, he again took credit for it. "I made this just for you mommy."

Eric went to the store in the evening to get some groceries. He came home and was showing me what he bought when Emilee walked into the kitchen. She got the most disgusted look on her face and looked at Eric and said, "You bought her bread for Mother's day?". Well he did but I also got a little something with a little more bling. It was a great day. I feel so lucky being able to write about those who love me.

Before I was a Mom

I recieved this in an email, I didn't write it but I thought it was nice. Happy Mothers Days!

Before I was a Mom -I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom -I cleaned my house each day.I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom -I had never been puked on, pooped on, spit on, chewed on or peed on.I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom -I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests...or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried.I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom -I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a mom.

Before I was a Mom -I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom -I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, he heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a mom.

Eat, Drink and be Merry

I was browsing through my photos and realized I had never posted these one. They are from two weekends ago when we went to the wine tasting festival in Prosser. We had such a good time. We went to probably 10 wineries that day, and passed up even more. It is amazing the number of wineries in that area, they are every where you look. Some are very fancy, some are a little more casual, and some out of a single wide trailer. It was a fun festival, they had bands and barbecues, vendors. The weather was gorgeous! Being my first week of dieting I was trying to be extra careful not to eat bad food, well maybe too careful. I didn't eat enough and all that wine got to me, I ended up feeling pretty bad by the end of the day. Lesson learned though, this is why the say EAT, drink and be merry.

Happy Anniversary My Dear Husband

Today is our eight year anniversary! Our anniversary falls on Apple Blossom Weekend every year which means I am always working, this year is no exception. We did go out for a nice dinner tonight thanks to my dad who watched the kids for us. The weather here is beautiful, the food was great so all in all it was a great day. I love you Eric!

To me it represents the most beautiful gift my husband gave me, my ring. I am just kidding of course I mean my children. You didn't think I was that shallow did you?

Spotlight on Emilee!

My beautiful Emilee. I watch her as she tranforms from my little first born baby into one of the "big kids". Full of attitude, a love for animals and a tender heart she is amazing. She is a beautiful individual. I am so proud of you Emilee!
