An Afternoon Drive

I took a drive the other day. Long, straight roads for as far as the eye could see. Some great music from my MP3 player, a great afternoon.

What a nice relaxing weekend. Had a nice double date at my favorite Mexican restaurant Friday night, Saturday night had some friends over for some Wii bowling, Sunday relaxed at home and enjoyed Valentines day with the loves of my life and Monday took some photos for a friends new baby. Overall a great weekend! Back to work tonight. It's been a busy weekend, workwise so there should lots to catch up on. Have a great week.

Romans 8:38-39 (New International Version)
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I just love that scripture. I have been searching a lot lately through old devotionals, old books, old prayer journals. I am not sure what I am searching for. Whatever it is I haven't quite found it yet. But in the process I have discovered a lot of inspiring passages, quotes, stories and such. I guess I am looking for the warm and fuzzy feeling. You know with busyness, stress, reality of life.....sometimes you forget what that feels like. I know that I have a lot of love in my life, for that I am so grateful for. Don't get me wrong. I feel love, I really do. But I can't help but feel some days that there is something missing. Looking out the window right now, that something is probably the sun. Winter blues are kicking in right??

My Day With Emilee....

It's back to work tonight. I have thoroughly enjoyed my two days off. I had big plans of getting so much accomplished. Most of which didn't happen. There is always next weekend right? I did get the downstairs bathroom painted! I have been talking about painting that room for months now. Emilee was begging me to do it so we woke up early this morning, picked out some paint we had leftover from something else and got to work. She is a great little helper. We finished up by lunch time. Now that I took the initial step to start the painting process, it is so apparent how badly the rest of the rooms need a fresh coat of paint. I guess it's paining for the next couple of months for me. Oh well, could be fun.
It was so much fun just hanging out with Emilee. She is growing up so quickly. Our conversations today seemed so "grown up". It scared me just a bit. She asked me today how old she had to be to have a boyfriend??? What?
Cody and Caitlyn spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa. They took a trip to the dollar store and the to McDonalds. What could be better right? It was nice having some one-on-one time with Em but I sure miss the littlest buggers when they are gone. We had a lazy afternoon nap and now are just having some cuddle time on the couch. Good times!

Monday Bliss

Had a great day of cleaning house, editing photos, a quick workout and a nice long nap. What can be better? It's back to work tonight. The kids all woke up with stomach aches, hopefully we are not getting round two for the flu bug.....

Here's a few of the photos I have been working on editing. Now what could possibly need fixed on a photo of such a cutie??? It was all me, the lighting was terrible so therefore lots, and lots of photo shop. I think they are okay though.

Boo Boos and Tutus

Today was my day to snap some tutu shots for a friend of mine who is trying to get started in a home business. The plan was three little ones together for a few shots that would make beautiful marketing photos. Not so simple. We did get some great shots but it definitely wasn't as easy as we were hoping. It is taking A LOT of editing but we will have some beautiful ballerinas to show off.
I woke up this morning to find little drops of blood all over the kitchen. Of course I questioned the resident vampire and he was quick to say he was drinking blood last night. He of course was lying and I had to figure out where the blood truely had come from. It turns out our cat has some sort of bite. No good. Sunday morning would mean a very pricey vet bill so I called the next best thing, my nurse/mother in law. She came over and assured my very upset little Emilee that the cat would be fine.
Next, Caitlyn decides to take a tumble off the kitchen stool. Bloody lip, bloody nose. All is fine, but more drama! Geesh. What a day!

Lazy Saturday!

Codys baking project. He was so excited about making a cake, he talked about it all week long.

Lazy Saturdays. Gotta love em! I woke up to breakfast in bed. Courtesy of my sweet Cody. I had the biggest bowl of Special K cereal I have ever seen. He is so sweet. After that I rolled out of bed to find a hurricane had touched down in my kitchen. I didn't know making mommy a bowl of cereal could create such a disaster but oh well. I clean that up and head out to tackle the leaves. Yes, it is almost February and I am still raking leaves. Not because I am lazy and never did it in the fall, but because the darn things are still falling. Now they are soggy and gross. Oh what fun. I raked and raked until my hands were bleeding from the blister I got. (Can you hear the violin playing in the background) Come on, this is my blog I can whine a bit. Leaves are picked up, dog doo doo is scooped. Children are fed and ready for "quiet time". Awwwww. My heart is happy! Tonight is hockey. We are making out first attempt at taking Caitlyn. Should be interesting. Eric is at the academy today, is suppose to get out early. We shall see. The weather is beautiful today. Sun is shining, warm enough for just a light jacket. Better go enjoy it. See ya!

Cody the Vampire

A random conversation that occurred just this morning:

Cody: "Mom, I am a vampire. Yesterday at school I drank somebodies blood. It was yummy. Also, vampires have cold skin, feel my skin. I am a vampire."

How can you argue with logic like that?
Last week he was a super hero. Hmmmm. I wonder what he will be next week? My household is so weird. I love it!

She speaks......

Weather has been like this......
Wishing for weather like this..........

I'm back......... took a little break from the world of blogging. They say if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. I am sure I could have come up with something nice to say but every time I went to make a blog entry, nothing. Things are getting better, my attitude is improving. Blame it on the icky, gray, cold weather. Or maybe the after holidays letdown. I don't know but I am back.

Let's see what's new?? I signed Cody up for T-ball tonight. He is so excited. Another Wentworth boy to hit the baseball field. Baseball is a Wentworth thing so he has some big shoes to feel. I hope he doesn't feel the pressure from daddy too much. Emilee is still doing horseback riding but she has also asked to do softball. We should have a busy spring ahead of us. Caitlyn is growing up so quickly. She loves her independence and insist on doing everything herself. It slows our morning routine down, A LOT! Oh well, she feels such pride in dressing herself or combing her own hair. Eric has been busy working long hours and then attending the reserve academy 3-4 days a week. I usually see him on average about 17 minutes a day. It's rough. My job is going pretty good. Same ol', same ol'. The long winter nights of not much going on are getting a bit old. As for my photography stuff....nothing. Haven't taken a photograph in over a month. Strange, I know. Not intentionally, I hope to do some pictures this weekend. My favorite kind, little girls in tutu's. Stay tuned. I will be sure to post them. Anyways, that's about it. Now that I am back I hope to keep the post a bit more regular. See ya soon.

I am sad. I am feeling a ton of different emotions but that is all I can seem to express in writing....sadness. The recent tragedy in Lakewood, leaving 4 officers dead has really angered me, worried me but mostly just left me feeling....SAD. Anyways, nobody ever accused me of being great with words so I am following in my dads footsteps and made a little photo montage. I found this song that was written in memory of the 4 fallen officers. Ironically it was written by somebody I went to college with. It's a beautiful song. Enjoy.

Super Hero Cody

My little super hero sporting his tighty whities.

So we are driving to school this morning and out of the blue Cody says " Before I was a super hero I used to be afraid of the thunder and lighting, I would have to sneak into your bed mommy. But now I am brave". I love that kid. He truly believes he has super powers. The funniest thing ever is to listen to his when he calls his cousin on the phone. He has to be super sneaky and go in the other room because they talk about super hero stuff- like saving the world. I wish I could record his conversations. It cracks me up. Super hero or not, he does have the power to melt my heart.

Here I am!!!

Not my kid, but my photo. Cute huh!!

Hey ya'll. Checking in here. Let's see what new in the Wentworth household???? The weather has turned cold and the tribes are restless, already. It's gonna be a long winter. My kids have so much energy, summertime really fits us better. Mommy needs that outdoor play time. Oh well, fall is nice too. Halloween is approaching. We have found costumes for two of the three little goblins. This year we decided on Minnie Mouse and Alice in Wonderland. Cody says he wants to be a Engine Turtle. He is referring to the Ninja Turtle costume he saw in a magazine, he has never seen the show Ninja Turtles and the costume comes with a mask, I am certain he won't wear a mask so I am strongly trying to steer him in another direction. I would prefer he dress up in one of the many costumes that are laying on his bedroom floor that are already paid for.....
My parents come home today from their cruise to Mexico. We have had their car parked in our driveway since they left. Every time we come home from anywhere Caitlyn freaks out and gets so excited "Grandpas HERE!!!", then I have to explain for the 100Th time that its just his car. The kids have missed there grandparents a lot. They will be so excited to hear about the big boat.
Work has been same ol' same ol'. I had couple of pretty "big" calls last week that have weighed heavy on my mind. I had a child caller that was reporting something terrible, that always gets to me. The picture taking is going good, I am off to do Senior pics today. Should be cold!!! I have had lots of family pictures booked, but then canceled. Apparently everyone else has a hectic life like my family. I totally understand. I am excited to take on the challenge of photography my family this fall, as in my parents, my sister and her family and my small clan. That's a lot of bodies to get situated and looking at a camera all at the same time. Can't wait!!! Anyways, if your interested in looking at my photos swing over to my other site. Take care...

Friendships

After a very trying and turbulent week-finally the weekend. It was a great weekend. Filled with deep conversations, light hearted moments and even some times when all inhibition's went out the window. What could be better? I have had a lot on my mind lately so I have been doing a little soul searching trying to figure out a few things about myself. I made some realizations this weekend about friends. There are so many differ ant levels of friendship and those levels can so quickly change. I have found that friends I considered my closest can turn your back on you in a split second. Friends that I was quick to judge I now have a greater understanding for. I have friends who are great listeners, friends who are quick to assume the worse about me, friends who will be there even when it is a little awkward for them, and friends who are no where to be found when the going gets tough. Friends that I have confided in, friends who feel they can confide in me. Friends I haven't talked to in years but feel like I nothing has changed. Friends who I talked to every day and I feel like I don't know them at all. Its tough to know where your friends fall on the wide spectra. Hmmmmm. a little deep for a Monday morning. But that's where I am. It's a new week. I look forward to what is to come.

My favorite photos of the week.

I have taken a TON of pics this last week. A TON! But these are my favorites. My beautiful girls, they melt my heart.
So its been a busy week. I have been in a funk. The sorta mood where if I write something on my blog I am certain I will look back and be totally embarrassed so.... For now just pics. Enjoy!
