I have the honor and pleasure of photography the kids at Cate's daycare next week. Today was a practice run. She did a great job. I love this girl!

Caitlyns Big Day

It was a big day for little Caitlyn. First official day of preschool, first day of Rainbows (church club) and first day of ballet. Well so we thought. Apparently ballet starts next week but we didn't figure that out until we showed up to a empty studio today. OOPS! We have a crazy, busy fall schedule for the kids, it's no wonder I messed up. Oh well, luckily Caitlyn is pretty forgiving. She went to Target with mommy, next best thing right?

Soccer Season Has Begun!

Cody kicked off the soccer season tonight with a great game. He has improved quite a bit since last season. I bit more aggressive, and not afraid of the ball anymore. He was pretty proud of himself but a bit disappointed he didn't score a goal.

Labor Day

I survived the DuCette family reunion! It was actually quite fun. I haven't seen some of these family members since I was a kid. Great people. I am so fortunate to have such a big, loving family. Awwww. Warm and fuzzies......

Garage Sale Find

I found a great little desk and chair at a garage sale yesterday. I painted it up. Then I sat and looked at it and thought.....photo opt!!! I had to bribe my little model with a candy bar for this shoot but I love how it turned out.

Happy Labor day weekend everyone! My family is laying low this weekend. We do have company coming so that will be fun.

The Ugly Truth

Here it is, the brutal truth. The wonders of editing. Yikes, scary. I can't believe I posted that picture. Anyways, it's kinda fun to see the comparison.

Today was a pretty good day. The kids finished up day two of school. They all still had smiles on when they came home so I am guessing all went well. I had a nice relaxing day. A hair appointment followed by lunch with my mom and then a nice afternoon nap. Awww. I am loving the fall schedule so far. It's off to soccer practice tonight then a relaxing night at home, hopefully involving a glass of wine and a good movie.

Back to School

Play time is over...back to school.
Well....there maybe still be some time for fun in the sun. After all they are still kids.
Cody ready to go! He starts first grade this year. Biggest worry of the year- cold lunch vs hot lunch. He decided on cold lunch for day one. Whew. Glad that huge dilemma is out of the way.
My baby girl. Emilee started 3rd grade. She certainly has a mind of her own, she picked her clothes, her backpack and all her school supplies this year.
Little Cate is spending another year at her daycare/preschool. She loves it there and they take good care of her. She was having a difficult morning. I am not sure what the tears where all about.

Final day of the August photo challenge! What fun it has been. I have loved every single day of it. I am not sure I have improved in my photography skills much but I do think that I look at things differently. I will be walking, or driving and something will catch my eye as a "photo opt". It makes me see the beauty in things that normally would just pass me by.

Happy Sunday! The kiddos and I are hanging out at home, still in our pajamas, catching up on housework, cuddling on the couch, just laying low. We made an attempt at the drive-in movie theater last night. I knew before we even left that it probably wasn't going to go well. The kids were still exhausted from the trip to Silverwood so to expect them to make it through two late movies was probably asking too much. We made it through one, with lots of wiggles, whining and fighting. The drive-in is shutting down so I knew this was going to be their last opportunity to experience a drive-in movie. I only wish they have been in better spirits. Oh well, I am sure the still had fun.

Recovery day! What fun we had yesterday but oh so tired today. It was a late night for us. We rolled into the driveway just after 1am. YIKES! I have had a lazy day so far. Mostly working on editing photos. I had the pleasure of shooting senior pictures for a young lady who I have known since she was born. Man, I am getting old. She did great. She was a great sport and took some beautiful pictures. I am having a blast editing them. The pictures below are some of the rides my dare devil children rode yesterday. Oh what a difference a year has made. Last year we were riding the "kiddy" rides, this year I was sending them off with grandma and grandpa to ride the " scary" rides. I am too chicken.

We have returned from the "happiest place on earth"...oh wait. Wrong theme park. But we have returned and I think all had a great time. We arrived when the park was opening and pretty much shut it down. I have some very worn out kids today. I have many more pictures to share later. Now I am off to shoot Senior photographs.

The kids and I are off to Silverwood. Last big event of the summer. I can hardly believe August is almost over. I have enjoyed the daily photo challenge so much. I might have to keep going with it.

We are adding a new pair of shoes to our already hectic fall schedule. Dance shoes!!! Caitlyn is signed up for a tap/ballet combo class. I am excited for her. Also, a bit sad. My baby can't possibly be old enough to participate in her own activities. She is pretty stinkin adorable in her tights and tutu. Priceless!
