I am sad. I am feeling a ton of different emotions but that is all I can seem to express in writing....sadness. The recent tragedy in Lakewood, leaving 4 officers dead has really angered me, worried me but mostly just left me feeling....SAD. Anyways, nobody ever accused me of being great with words so I am following in my dads footsteps and made a little photo montage. I found this song that was written in memory of the 4 fallen officers. Ironically it was written by somebody I went to college with. It's a beautiful song. Enjoy.

Super Hero Cody

My little super hero sporting his tighty whities.

So we are driving to school this morning and out of the blue Cody says " Before I was a super hero I used to be afraid of the thunder and lighting, I would have to sneak into your bed mommy. But now I am brave". I love that kid. He truly believes he has super powers. The funniest thing ever is to listen to his when he calls his cousin on the phone. He has to be super sneaky and go in the other room because they talk about super hero stuff- like saving the world. I wish I could record his conversations. It cracks me up. Super hero or not, he does have the power to melt my heart.

Here I am!!!

Not my kid, but my photo. Cute huh!!

Hey ya'll. Checking in here. Let's see what new in the Wentworth household???? The weather has turned cold and the tribes are restless, already. It's gonna be a long winter. My kids have so much energy, summertime really fits us better. Mommy needs that outdoor play time. Oh well, fall is nice too. Halloween is approaching. We have found costumes for two of the three little goblins. This year we decided on Minnie Mouse and Alice in Wonderland. Cody says he wants to be a Engine Turtle. He is referring to the Ninja Turtle costume he saw in a magazine, he has never seen the show Ninja Turtles and the costume comes with a mask, I am certain he won't wear a mask so I am strongly trying to steer him in another direction. I would prefer he dress up in one of the many costumes that are laying on his bedroom floor that are already paid for.....
My parents come home today from their cruise to Mexico. We have had their car parked in our driveway since they left. Every time we come home from anywhere Caitlyn freaks out and gets so excited "Grandpas HERE!!!", then I have to explain for the 100Th time that its just his car. The kids have missed there grandparents a lot. They will be so excited to hear about the big boat.
Work has been same ol' same ol'. I had couple of pretty "big" calls last week that have weighed heavy on my mind. I had a child caller that was reporting something terrible, that always gets to me. The picture taking is going good, I am off to do Senior pics today. Should be cold!!! I have had lots of family pictures booked, but then canceled. Apparently everyone else has a hectic life like my family. I totally understand. I am excited to take on the challenge of photography my family this fall, as in my parents, my sister and her family and my small clan. That's a lot of bodies to get situated and looking at a camera all at the same time. Can't wait!!! Anyways, if your interested in looking at my photos swing over to my other site. Take care...

Friendships

After a very trying and turbulent week-finally the weekend. It was a great weekend. Filled with deep conversations, light hearted moments and even some times when all inhibition's went out the window. What could be better? I have had a lot on my mind lately so I have been doing a little soul searching trying to figure out a few things about myself. I made some realizations this weekend about friends. There are so many differ ant levels of friendship and those levels can so quickly change. I have found that friends I considered my closest can turn your back on you in a split second. Friends that I was quick to judge I now have a greater understanding for. I have friends who are great listeners, friends who are quick to assume the worse about me, friends who will be there even when it is a little awkward for them, and friends who are no where to be found when the going gets tough. Friends that I have confided in, friends who feel they can confide in me. Friends I haven't talked to in years but feel like I nothing has changed. Friends who I talked to every day and I feel like I don't know them at all. Its tough to know where your friends fall on the wide spectra. Hmmmmm. a little deep for a Monday morning. But that's where I am. It's a new week. I look forward to what is to come.

What a whirl wind of a week. I am so thankful to have the kids back to school. We are back to some what of a normal routine again. I am in the middle of my long work week, a very slow, long, boring work week. It's Labor day weekend, I figured it would be busy at work and time would fly by. Not so much. The cold weather is the culprit. And what is up with this cold weather anyways? It feels like late fall not late summer. I did have two wonderful photo shoots last week. This whole photography thing is really taking off. I have four more this weekend! Anyways, check out these cuties....

First Day of School

Emilee is off to 2nd grade this year. She is excited to get to see her friends again. One of her best friends from kindergarten is in her class this year. She is most excited about moving up to the big kid playground.
Cody is starting school for the first time. He is excited. He is planning on having pizza from the cafeteria. He is most worried about not being about to read.

Even little Cate starts school today. She is starting preschool. The theme for the week is "All about me". She has her first show and tell today and she decided to take a Barbie doll.

Nickelback

Eric and I with a group of friends headed out to the beautiful Gorge Amphitheater to watch one of my favorite bands, Nickelback. Kinda one last hurrah before the end of summer. We had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect. I hadn't been to a concert at the Gorge in years, I had forgotten how breathtaking the view is. Just a lovely weekend.
