Moonlight in Wenatchee

Did you notice the moon last night? Check it out tonight if you think about it. It is beautiful, too bad it makes all the crazies come out. Oh well it always makes for an interesting night at my work!

(by the way I didn't take this photo, I got it from Flickr.com)

Whoa... What a Day!

This photo is an older one but I love it so I wanted to share it with you all. Today was crazy busy, seems like I could never quite get ahead of the game. We started out running late, I dropped Emilee off at her school just as the bell was ringing. Cody made it to school on time and I thought I had just enough time to grab a latte before I headed to my bible study, NOPE. The cars ahead of me where taking forever so I ended up leaving, empty handed. I made it to My bible study just in time, had a good time, maybe too good of a time because when I looked at the clock I realized I had five minutes to get to Emilee's school to pick her up. I got the kids home, fed them lunch and tried to get them to take a nap, no such luck. I don't think any of them slept, not even the baby. Which means I didn't get my much needed nap either. Eric got home from work, dinner wasn't ready so we headed out the door to Emilee's soccer game starving!! She did great at her game despite being hungry. Trying to leave the parking lot of the park was a nightmare, it took forever, so it was through the drive-thru at McDonalds and then a mad dash to put the kids to bed. It is now 8:23, kids are in bed and I have to head out the door to work. Sorry this isn't the most entertaining blog post I have done but hey maybe tomorrow!

It's Coming.....

It's my favorite time of year. I don't know what it is but something about the change of season makes me turn into a major home-body. I get all crafty, get obsessed with decorating, even bake!(for anybody who knows me well this is very unlike me!) So I put out the "harvest" decorations but Eric wouldn't let me put Halloween up yet. So check back in about a week or so and I will have new pictures of Halloween at my place.
The kids and I went shopping yesterday for costumes, I don't want to spoil any surprises but I must say the kids will be ADORABLE this year, I am a little bias though. If you can't wait until the big day you can click here for a sneak peak.
The plan for this afternoon is to hunt down some pumpkins for the front porch and maybe some corn husks??? One of these days I will have to take the kids up to Small Woods Harvest in Peshastin. It's pretty neat there this time of year, they have a ton of pumpkins, a corn maze and my kids always love the petting zoo.
So if you are in my neighborhood, drop by I will probably have some pumpkin bread fresh out of the oven!!!

Bubbly

My dad is rubbing off on me, with his video making. I love this song and so I thought the only way to make the song any better would be to add pictures of my kids!

Attittude

Now the question of the day.... Does my adorable son have so much ATTITUDE because I dress him in these t-shirts? Or, do I dress him in these t-shirts BECAUSE he has so much attitude??? Either way, it's all in good fun. The t-shirts make me laugh almost as much as Cody does.

The Baby Shower

Today I threw a baby shower for a good friend of mine. It went well and I think everyone had a good time. I didn't get a chance to take many photos for that I regret. I decorated with fresh flowers, a diaper cake, and classic Winnie the Pooh decorations. I served pita sandwiches, spinach dip and chocolate cake. We played a couple of typical shower games but mostly just enjoyed each others company. It was nice to be able to show support for the new mom and be able to provide some of the essentials she will need for her new baby.

Today...

I am feeling a little sleepy after my first shift back on graveyard but all went well. Caitlyn survived her first night with daddy and wasn't too hard on him, I think she woke up twice. She slept most of the day with me so we both will probably be wide awake tonight. Who knows maybe I will come up with something insightful to write about in the wee hours of the morning!

LOVE

I found this photo on Flickr.com

What Does Love Mean?

1. "When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint
her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time,
even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." Rebecca - age 8

2. When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You
just know that your name is safe in their mouth." Billy - age 4

3. "Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne
and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5

4. "Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French
fries without making them give you any of theirs." Chrissy - age 6

5. "Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri - age 4

6. "Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip
before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." Danny - age 7

7. "Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of
kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.
My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss" Emily - age 8

8. "Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening
presents and listen," Bobby - age 7

9. "If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend
who you hate," Nikka - age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka's on
this planet)

10. "Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears
it everyday." Noelle - age 7
What a cute list, kids are so sweet in their innocence. It's nice to have a little reminder about the importance of love. How ever you see it.

Baby Bella!

We did it, I know we must be crazy but we got ourselves a new kitten. The kids named this adorable little Siamese Baby Bella. The kids are so excited, mostly Emilee. She slept with Bella all night and even woke up twice to take the kitten to the litter box. So far she seems like a really sweet kitten, still pretty unsure of her new environment. Our other cat is a little weary of the new addition but I am sure they will be best of friends in no time.

The Home I Love...

Author: Kay Hoffman
Some homes are quiet, polished, neat

But one I know is far more sweet

Where tiny smudges on the wall

Tell of fingers dear and small.

Where toys are sometimes strewn about

And doors are banging in and out.

Where little children play and sing,

And laughter's often heard to ring...

The home I love is filled with noise

Of happy little girls and boys!

Proud Grandpa!

My dad has a hobby, he really enjoys making little video clips of still pictures set to music. He has been doing this for awhile now and is getting quite good at it. If you interested in seeing the videos he made of each of my kids here are the links.

Practice Makes Perfect.... (eventually)

Today I had the pleasure of practicing my photography skills on my sister and her family. It was a lot of fun. We were able to capture a few great family photos! Take a look, and thanks Klinge family for letting me use you as guinea pigs.

Family....

Caitlyn with her Great Uncle Pete

Chase Lives!

For you who don't know who Chase is, he is a little stuffed dog that we got from Starbucks when Emilee was a baby. He was an instant favorite and went everywhere with her. We bought an extra one just in case Chase ever disappeared. It's a good thing we did because Chase was left at Disneyland last year. Chase II took his place in Emilee's heart and even though she left him home he still had a place next to her each night at bedtime.
Today, Chase II got a new owner. Emilee decided it would be okay for baby Caitlyn to take care of Chase II. I was very touched by this act of kindness, a very generous act considering the history between these two. It makes me a little sad to know Emilee is ready to give up her "lovey", however I think he will be very happy with his new owner.

My Sweetie!

Need I Say More?

Red Day!

Yesterday was Red Day at Cody's preschool. Red Day is a day in which the kids wear red to school and bring a red toy to share at show and tell. Cody eagerly dressed in his red Cougar sweatpants outfit and picked out his red chain saw which he got for his birthday this year. I was a little nervous about sending him to school with a chain saw, even if it is a toy. Why would I be nervous about turning him loose in a room full of 3-4 year olds with a power tool? Let me tell you about our little incident with the toy weed whacker.

We were driving home from Cashmere, (about 20 minute drive) and Cody is playing with his toy weed whacker in the back seat. All of a sudden I hear a blood curdling scream from Emilee. I have no where to pull over, we are on HWY 2, but I look back in my rear view mirror to see that Cody had took the weed whacker to his sisters hair. It was wrapped up so tightly, I was sure I would have to cut it out. We drove all the way to town with the weed whacker stuck in her hair, she was screaming hysterically. Luckily, we were able to get it out without scissors. But the moral of the story is this. When you child asked to play with power tools..... say yes, it makes for a good story!!!!

On Being the Mother Two Little Girls

Author: Unknown
A careful woman I ought to be
a little lady follows me.
I do not dare to go astray
for fear she'll go the self same way.
Not once can I escape her eyes:
Whate'er she sees me do she tries.
Like me she says she's going to be,
that little lady who follows me.
I must remember as I go through summer sun and winter snow.
I'm molding for years to be that little lady who follows me.

A Busy Saturday!

It was a busy day. Emilee did great at her first soccer game, but not much to blog so instead you can enjoy some cute pictures!

Good Music, Good Coffee, A Good Evening!

So my sister invited me to join her and her husband at a local coffee shop for a concert last night. The singer was Korby Lenker . I had never heard of him either but he was pretty good. He put on a good show and it was kinda fun hanging out in a coffee shop, relaxing and listening to music. Eric is worried I am turning into a artsy, fartsy type. Probably not but it was a fun evening!

Boots, Boots, And More Boots!

Okay, this is probably not the most insightful post I have done but just for fun I am going to share something Emilee and I have a common love for, our boots!! Emilee loved the idea of sharing her prized boot collection with everyone. She eagerly lined up all our boots to take a picture. Well...maybe not all of them but most of them. Every girl needs a collection right???? Don't worry, we haven't left Caitlyn out, she has a couple pair of baby bootie boots too.

Game On!

Soccer season has begun again. I love watching Emilee play soccer, she makes me so proud. I see her improve with each game and I just can't get enough! I guess I am a true soccer mom huh? Its funny because I know she didn't get any of her athleticism from me. Well if anybody is up for some great entertainment you should try to make it one of her games. They are indeed entertaining. There are kids running every direction, scoring goals for the other team, crying every time they fall down, leaving in the middle of the game to use the bathroom, that sorta thing. They are usually on Saturdays, Mondays and/or Wednesdays. Give me a call for time and place.

Another one flys the coop....

Cody was up at 6 o'clock this morning, " I'm ready for school!" He was dressed and had his backpack on by 7:15. School doesn't start until 9:00. We made the decision to switch daycares/preschools due to the fact that we moved and his old daycare was in Wenatchee and they didn't provide care for infants. Caitlyn will eventually join Cody but for now Cody is off to preschool three days a week. He came home with his little art projects, and excited he was able to play outside. It's so hard to believe that summer is over, both kids are in school and I will soon be returning to work. It's crazy how time flies.

While Emilee is away Cody will play

Cody and I enjoyed a little one on one time together today. Baby Caitlyn was sleeping and Emilee was at school so Cody and I were able to play with the stuff that mommy usually puts up high, like play-doh, markers and paint. I enjoyed spending time with him this morning because tomorrow I send him off to preschool. He is so excited to go to school just like his big sister. He will go three times a week in the mornings until I go back to work and then he will stay a bit longer. Check out a few more of Codys creations here. I think he is quite talented!!!

Our Trip To The Cabin

We made it! A five hour drive pulling a trailer, three small children in the back screaming in the back seat and even a windstorm and power outage but overall a very relaxing weekend. We drove over to Lewiston on Thursday night and spent the night at Erics brothers house and then took off the next day for the cabin just outside of Orofino, Idaho.

We had just gotten settled and made dinner when a windstorm hit and knocked the power out. Normally that would be no big deal after all we are camping right? Well no electricity means no pump for the well so NO WATER! We just weren't prepared for that. We made it through the night and we were just about to head back to town when at about noon the electricity finally came back on. After that little fiasco I was able to relax and the rest of the weekend went smoothly.

The kids had a blast, chasing butterflies, riding the four wheeler, playing with the dogs, and wondering around the pasture. It was nice spending time with family and just being out in the middle of no where to enjoy a little peace and quite. Here are some of the MANY pictures I took this weekend.
