A Relaxing Saturday....Ha Ha

It's Saturday, a day for relaxing. A peaceful day at home with the kids right? Well.... Eric is working an overtime shift so its me and the kids. They are in some mood. Hyper, loud, uncooperative, naughty but they are sure CUTE! We need to get out of the house but our lovely spring weather was ruined by a freak snow storm yesterday! Who would have thought snow, its almost APRIL! Well as much as they are driving me nuts, we are having a nice day. They house is completely messy, and look at the time this is being posted. Yup, 1:38 and we are still in our pajamas. Good times.

Vacation!

I am officially on VACATION. I am so excited. We were planning on taking the kids somewhere fun but.... we are PAYING taxes this years so we are being a little frugal. We are going to take a quick trip over to Seattle and a few things with the kids. Other than that I plan on a little spring cleaning, maybe tackle some sort of home improvement project. Who knows, only time will tell.

Easter Fun!

I love Easter! I pretty much just love the whole spring season. The excitement of being able to go outside and play. The bright beautiful colors, everything. This Easter wasn't quite the same since I had to work but we were still able to squeeze in some of the typical Easter stuff. We dyed eggs, had a egg hunt, and had a nice Easter dinner. I did miss out on church this year. I had every intention of trying to stay up after working all night and making the early service, but it just didn't happen. Maybe this upcoming Sunday! I took a bunch of pictures check them out!

My Big Date!

Friday was the big Wiggle concert. Cody and I had a great time hanging out, just the two of us. We spent the day on the west side of the mountains, got some lunch, tried to do a little shopping and of course the bit event, THE WIGGLES! He loved it. He sang along with all the songs, did a little dancing. He was upset because he didn't get to go up to the characters and talk with them. It was great. I did leave with a pretty good headache. Imagine a entire stadium filled with screaming toddlers and even worse, parents talking in the typical toddler talk!!!! Here are a few pictures, click here.

Aww Memories!

My sister did a fun little post about herself 10 year ago, 20 years ago and then 30 years ago. So me being the typical little sister decided to copy her. I couldn't quite follow the rules completely since 3o years ago I was non existent, but I played along with 10 year ago and 20 years ago. Enjoy, don't laugh too much!

Twenty years ago. This is me at eight years old. Yes, I was right smack in the middle of those awkward years. What a goofy looking kid I was. I remember exactly why I have that look on my face though. My parents used to take us to Kmart to get our photos taken. For some reason the photo place was right in the middle of the store and my dad was holding up some mens tighty whiteys (underwear) in hopes of making me smile. At eight years old that was pretty embarrassing for me.
Ten years ago. My senior year of high school. This picture cracks me up because at the time I barely knew my date, Jarrod. We showed up, took pictures and I split to hang out with my friends. Twenty years later, Jarrod is almost a permanent fixture in our home, he has been best friends with my husband all these years. I now hear over and over about how I ditched him at the dance. It's all in good fun. Another funny thing about that night is we went to that dance with a whole group of people. One of the other couples we went with was my friend April and her older guy friend who recently moved to Idaho. I didn't pay much attention to him at the time. Until.... two years later I married him!
This photo was taken last weekend. It may be a current photo but looking at it brings back so many memories. The women on the left is Castilia. She has been my best friend since I was the awkward looking eight year old pictured above. We had so many great time together. On the right of me in the picture is Kristin. Also a very dear friend from my childhood. We went to youth group together and shared so many special time together. It was so much fun last weekend catching up and reminiscing about the good old times.

Weekend Update!

Feeling a little glum today, not sure if it's a good idea to blog when your in a bad mood but I will try. A weekend update. I had a nice trip to Leavenworth Friday night for a women's retreat put together by my church. It was nice to catch up with old friends. I can't believe how long it has been since I have spent time with these beautiful people whom at one time was very close to. I forgot my camera but my sister took some great photos so go check out her site.
Saturday night Eric and I went to the annual crab feed up in Waterville to raise money for the local county fair. The night didn't go great, thus the cranky mood today.
The kids are doing good. They are excited it is St. Patricks day and are all decked out in green. Emilee seemed to think because I said she should wear green today, that she should wear every green piece of clothing she owns, at once! She has many shades of green and many styles on today. Interesting.
Friday is the big Wiggle concert. Cody is so excited he can hardly handle himself. He is full of questions, When we are going? How long we are going to stay? Are we taking an airplane? What is going to happen? When we get there? Who will be there? Will Wags be there? Will Dorothy be there? Will Jeff be there? And on and on.
It is back to work tonight. My short week, only three days. Yeah! We are two weeks away from spring break and still no plans have been made. We can't seem to make a decision on where to go or what to do. I think Eric is very nervous about the idea of traveling with three kids. I am sure we will come up with something, if you have any ideas for us we would appreciate it!

Pitch His Tent

Who says church can't be fun. This poor guy. I feel for him. In my job I often slip up and say things and EVERYBODY hears it. Once I gave back a veh return, it was a Chevy Aerostar Van. The abbreviation on the return is CHEV AERO, so I gave it back as a Chevy Aerosmith! Pretty embarrassing. One time I gave back a vehicle return on a Volvo as a vulva. Now that was really embarrassing!

Big Stuff!

I went to get Caitlyn up this morning and she had a surprise for me! She was standing in her crib! She was so proud that she was able to pull herself up into a standing position. Next step...walking.

Never A Dull Moment

The kids decided to put together a band. They had three guitars, a trumpet, a drum, a ukulele (I am not sure if thats spelled right?), a keyboard, and harmonica. Awww the sound of childhood. If you don't recognize one of the bandmembers its because she doesn't belong to me. It's a neighbor girl.

Us... Being Silly at Grace's Birthday Party

We had a wonderful evening last night. We celebrated my nieces 9Th birthday at my sisters beautiful home. It was fun getting the family together, watching the kids play, good food and of course enjoying each others company. I am not a great writer so as usual I will let my pictures tell my story.
Grace received a guitar for her birthday.

My lovely niece Grace, turning 9 in a few days. Where does time go?

The beautiful birthday girl.
My adorable nephew Trent battling it out with Cody.

Cody ready for battle???
That's Cody underneath there.

The Tragic Life of a Three Year Old

We were out "exploring" this morning. Cody and I were searching for signs of spring. As you know with a three year old, things can go from happy to melt down mode in a matter of minutes. I am a terrible mom for snapping these picture but I couldn't help myself.

Welcome Spring!

The warmer weather has been so wonderful. The kids love being able to play out
side, and I love having them out of the house. I have been trying to get the perfect photograph for me blog header since the one I have is very wintery. I haven't got the right shot yet. It seems like it is nearly impossible to get all three kids in a good mood, well dressed, no snotty noses
or scratches ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

We are getting better

My kids are in recovery. Cody is not a "pink eye person". It ended up being just an eye cold??? Whatever that mean. Caitlyn was diagnosed with a sinus infection and is being treated for that. I am feeling good about my decision to stick to my instincts regarding her being sick after I found out some very scary news this morning. I took a call last Wednesday night about a four year old having convulsions. She had been sick with the flu. Her Grandma called 911 and got me. They lived way out in the middle of no where so I was on the phone with her for a good 15-20 minutes before the ambulance crew could arrive. They transported her and I assumed all would be fine, I never heard otherwise, until today. Apparently she died at the hospital. The flu!

Now on a happier note, this picture makes me smile. It was "T" week at Cody's daycare. So in honor of the letter "T" they had a teddy bear tea and were allowed to bring their favorite teddy bear to school. Cody came home so excited that his special bear won this award. That was two weeks ago and his bear is still wearing this little paper medal with pride. I tried to take it off for bedtime but Cody wouldn't let me. A little history or this "Most Loved Bear". Cody received this bear when he was just a couple of week old from my Aunt Sue. He has slept with it every night since.

Pink Eye Person

So today was a fairly typical morning. We were running late as usual so I was running around like a mad lady trying to get all three kids dressed, fed and out the door. I go to drop off Cody at preschool and I hear " Cody, what's wrong with your eye?". Sure enough I look at him and his eye is pink and puffy. Pink eye. Feeling like a terrible mom for not noticing it before I dropped him off I explained he would not be staying and assured the teacher we would take him in and get it treated. All the way home I was staring at him in the rear view window and all I could think about was a distant memory of mine from my childhood. It was our family vacation in Canada and I was probably 7 years old. I somehow got pink eye and my brother and his friend decided to yell across the whole camp site "Darcie is a pink eye person, Darcie is a pink eye person." I was traumatized. And now 20 some years later my son is now falling in my footsteps as my "little pink eye person".

On a separate note, I am using the pink eye as an excuse to take the baby back into the doctor. I am standing by my gut instinct that something is not right with her. I had her in last week and they assured me she is fine. I disagree. She is still stuffy, still coughing, her eyes are puffy and crusted over, she has had a fever for the last two nights reaching 103, she barely sleeps, barely eats and she still cries all day, everyday at daycare. I don't think that she is fine, maybe I am paranoid.

Cody was not too upset about staying home today, he got to play with his train set.

Did you miss me?

My computer is fixed!!! Eric did a little something to the cord and YEAH it's working again. I haven't posted much lately so where do I start? I guess I will fill you in on our weekend. The weather was beautiful so it we did yard work. Lots of yard work. Mostly poop actually. Two St Bernard's and three months of their business revealed underneath the newly melted snow, GROSS. We filled up three, yes three 55 pound dog food bags full. Well enough about poop. We also sucked up the last of the leaves, cleaned out the pond and dragged out all the outdoor toys for the kids.

Oh yeah, I did get one other very important task accomplished. Cody received a very nice train set from his Grandma Cheryl Christmas 2006. It has been sitting untouched in the box ever since. Why you may be asking? The thing is huge. 146 pieces, and yes you read the box right 84 x 53 inches. What normal person has room in their house for a train set that big? Not only is it huge but it took a good hour just to put it together. Since we moved into out new place we do have an extra garage/hobby room that fits the train nicely. So after a year and a half of listening to my kids beg me to put the thing together...IT IS DONE. They love it, so thanks Grandma Cheryl.
