Storms, Gratitude and Hope

What a week! I posted earlier in the week that Eric was over on the coast helping to restore power after a big wind storm. Well, its Sunday night and he is STILL GONE. I am going crazy. Three kids, by myself and on top of that it's my long work week so 50+ hours of childcare to arrange. It's not easy pawning off three young kids during my graveyard shift, one which barely is sleeping through the night. Luckily, my friends and family have come through for me again. Many have offered there homes to my kids, I am so grateful. The kids ended up staying with my parents four nights in a row. I thought it was best to try keep them in one spot as much as possible. Consistency in this time of chaos is vital! So my parents have been reliving life as it was for them 27 years ago. My kids are the same age difference as my brother, sister and I. Anyways, I am extremely grateful. Grateful and exhausted. God bless the single moms out there, I don't know how they do it. There is hope, Eric said there is about 3000 people still without power and 21 crews working on the situation. Hopefully just a day or two more.

Thanks mom and dad, I owe you!

Its great that no one is taken for granted in a marriage, and I am so Glad God designed a family of a mom/dad and yes, grandparents to help out. 27 years ago I blinked and my kids were grown up- so this weekend I focused on not blinking- but you know, I was able to see them grow in front of me I think, but I still blinked? They are super kids and I agree, both parents are needed for raising kids. someone told us, the best thing you can do for your kids is to show them a good marriage. Good to have you home Eric!
